How to prepare Suji (Semolina)Nuggets
To make semolina nuggets, first prepare semolina flour. For
kneading semolina, put 2 cups of water in a vessel, add 1/2 tsp salt and 2 tsp
oil and keep it covered on low flame till the water boils.
After the water comes to a boil, put the flame on the gas,
now slowly add semolina to it and mix it. Cook the semolina on slow gas while
stirring continuously. When the semolina becomes thick, turn off the gas and
let it cool down a bit.
When it starts to cool down, apply some oil in your hand.
For stuffing, peel the boiled potatoes and take them out in
a vessel and mash the potatoes with the help of a spoon. Heat oil in a pan, now
add peas and cook for 2 to 3 minutes so that the peas become soft after cooking
completely. After 3 minutes, check the peas by pressing them, if the peas start
pressing, then the peas are cooked well and if they are not cooked, then cook
them for some more time and mash them in the pan itself.
Now add finely chopped green chillies, 1.5 tsp coriander
powder, tsp turmeric powder, tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp amchur powder and Now
break a ball from semolina dough and give it the shape of a small poori, put
the prepared potato stuffing in it and close it. Now flatten this stuffed dough
by pressing it with the palm of the other hand and press it with two corners to
give a cylindrical shape and keep it on one side in the plate and keep all the
dough like this.Put oil in a pan and heat it. When the oil is medium hot, put
the semolina balls made in it. Put as many semolina balls in the pan at a time.
Fry the balls in turn till they turn golden brown, take out the fried balls and
keep them on a napkin paper laid in a plate. It takes 10 to 15 minutes to fry
the nuggets at once. Now prepare all the sooji balls by frying in the same way.
Semolina nuggets are ready, serve them with green coriander
chutney or tomato sauce and eat.
